Teeth Whitening With Dentist in The Old North End, Colorado Springs, CO - 80907
Teeth whitening is a non-invasive cosmetic procedure that can improve the color and brightness of your teeth. It is the most popular dental service offered by the dentist in The Old North End, Colorado Springs because it’s quick and affordable. In-office teeth whitening treatments are usually done in one to two one-hour appointments, compared to take-home treatments that can take anywhere from one to five nights. Home kits are less expensive but aren’t as effective as in-office applications. However, patients who’ve had their teeth whitened professionally can usually maintain their smiles with at-home care products.
The process for in-office teeth whitening is quite simple. Our dentist in The Old North End, Colorado Springs, CO – 80907 will apply a protective barrier over the gums to prevent the whitening gel from irritating them. Then, a high-concentration hydrogen peroxide solution is placed on the teeth. The solution is left on the teeth for several minutes before being rinsed away to reveal your newly brightened smile. Most patients experience noticeable brightening after just one appointment. In rare cases, additional appointments may be needed to get the shade you want. The shade of your teeth can be maintained by brushing twice a day with ADA-approved toothpaste and avoiding foods and beverages that will stain your smile.
Patients who have minor stains or small chips in their tooth enamel are good candidates for teeth whitening services. Patients with severe tooth decay or gum disease will first need to get these issues treated before undergoing any cosmetic procedures. Patients who suffer from sensitive teeth will also want to consult their dentist about teeth whitening. In some cases, these patients with sensitive teeth and gums may be good candidates for professional-grade at-home whitening kits instead of in-office applications.
Porcelain Veneers With Dentist in The Old North End, Colorado Springs, CO - 80907
Dental veneers are thin shells that are applied to the front surfaces of your teeth to conceal cosmetic imperfections and give you a straighter and more even smile. They require the removal of a small amount of tooth enamel, which permanently changes your tooth’s shape. Unlike crowns, which are cemented in place, porcelain veneers are bonded to your teeth with resin cement for a stronger hold. The process for applying these custom-fit shells typically takes two to three appointments with the dentist in Old North End Colorado Springs, including consultation, preparation, and bonding. After your veneers are placed, you can care for them just as you would your natural teeth by brushing at least twice a day and flossing daily. To help maintain the bright shine of your veneers, you can also have them polished by our cosmetic dentist in dentist in Old North End Colorado Springs or at home with an opalescence kit. Dental Bonding With Dentist in The Old North End, Colorado Springs, CO - 80907
In cosmetic dentistry, the composite resin material is called bonding. The dentist in Old North End Colorado Springs applies this tooth-colored resin directly to a tooth and cures it in place with a special light. The result is a beautiful restoration that blends in seamlessly with the surrounding teeth. It is a relatively quick, easy procedure with results that can last up to 10 years. Patients love that they can get this transformation in a single visit!
This treatment can be used to repair minor cosmetic flaws like discoloration, shape issues, or chips. It can also be used to close gaps between teeth. For major damage, such as significant decay or a chip that is compromising the structure of the tooth, porcelain veneers will be a better choice, as these restorations cover the entire front surface of the tooth.
