General Dentistry With Dentist in Broadmoor CO

General Dentistry With Dentist in Broadmoor CO

Dental care that’s provided on a recurring basis is known as general dentistry. This can involve regular checkups, screening tools, and preventive treatments that are designed to stop problems before they start. It also includes treatment for cavities and other common problems like gum disease or tooth loss so that issues don’t develop and become worse over time.

Regular visits are an important part of maintaining good oral health. At every appointment, our dentist in Dentist in Broadmoor, CO, will thoroughly clean your teeth and examine your mouth to look for potential signs of decay, damage, or other concerns that require treatment. This allows us to address any issues early before they become serious enough to require more extensive procedures.

What Are the Types of General Dentistry Procedures?

General dentistry involves basic preventive dental care, like cleanings and fluoride treatments. However, our general dentist in Broadmoor, CO, has training in cosmetic or implant dentistry procedures as well.

The most common types of general dentistry procedures include:

Teeth Cleaning With Dentist in Broadmoor CO

Professional teeth cleaning by a dental hygienist removes plaque and tartar buildup that you can’t remove yourself at home. The dentist in Broadmoor, CO, also flosses and polishes your teeth, applies fluoride to strengthen tooth enamel and gives your teeth a thorough examination to check for hidden problems. You’ll leave with a healthier mouth and fresher breath!

Gum Disease Treatment With Dentist in Broadmoor CO

Deep cleanings, also known as scaling and root planing, can remove plaque and tartar from your teeth above and below the gum line. This is a common preventative dentistry procedure to help prevent cavities and gum disease. In addition to scraping away any buildup on the tooth’s surface, the dentist in Broadmoor, CO, will also floss between the teeth and along the gum line to ensure that all of the plaque has been successfully removed. In some cases, we may recommend the use of an ultrasonic scaler. This instrument will vibrate at a frequency that effectively dislodges the plaque from difficult-to-reach places in the mouth.

Scaling and root planing is usually done on patients with moderate-to-severe gum disease. It is an effective way to help improve the health of your gums and prevent further infection.

Dental Fillings With Dentist in Broadmoor CO

A filling is done when the dentist in Broadmoor, CO, removes decayed tooth material, cleans the affected area, and then fills the cleaned-out cavity with a material such as composite resin or porcelain. The material bonds with the existing enamel and creates a strong and durable restoration.

The dentist in Broadmoor, CO, determines which material is most appropriate for the affected tooth based on the location of the decay, the biting forces the patient places on the tooth, and the desired esthetic outcome for the patient.

Crowns and Bridge With Dentist in Broadmoor CO

Crowns, or caps as they are sometimes called, are restorations that fit over a tooth that is cracked or damaged beyond the point of repair with a filling or other type of restoration. A crown essentially covers the entire visible surface of the tooth above the gum line. Once in place, a crown encases the tooth, preventing further decay and damage while protecting its internal structure from further damage as well. Crowns are also used after a root canal to restore the shape and enhance the function of a damaged tooth.

Dental bridges are used to fill a gap created by one or more missing teeth. They consist of two or more crowns on either side of an artificial tooth that fills the empty space of the missing tooth. Like dental crowns, the bridge is permanently placed over the natural teeth adjacent to the gap, providing the same protection to the supporting teeth and preventing bodily movement of the other teeth in the mouth. The artificial tooth in the bridge is typically made to match the color of the surrounding teeth and can be shaped to allow for proper bite alignment and chewing. The bridge is bonded into place and does not come out or be removed for cleaning. It must, however, be cared for properly at home with regular brushing and flossing to prevent staining and early replacement due to wear and tear.

Both crowns and bridges can be made of a number of materials, but porcelain is usually chosen for its strength and ability to closely match the look of natural enamel. These dental restorations can last for many years with proper care and should be evaluated regularly by the dentist in Broadmoor, CO, to check for signs of damage or wear and to ensure the teeth are otherwise healthy and problem free. In some cases, crowns and bridges may be used to cosmetically enhance a smile rather than restore it after significant decay or damage has occurred. In any case, they are strong and functional ways to restore your smile to its previous beauty and health.

Seriously such an amazing experience! I haven’t been to the dentist in over 10 years. I was extremely nervous to hear what they were going to say. They were soooo kind and not judgmental in the slightest! Everyone was sooo sweet from the front desk staff to the dentist! HIGHLY recommend!

I had a filling fall out and they fit me in same day for an emergency filling, so that was great! Everyone is super friendly and they do fast, efficient work. Highly recommend.

Dr Moore installed a crown on my new “experimental” dental implant in about 1991. Shortly after that, I moved away from the Colorado Springs area. Recently, (April 2024) this crown began feeling a bit loose. Since the crown and implant were so old (obsolete?), my local dentist was unsure of the hardware configuration, and dental records from that long ago were seeming unavailable. I was able to locate Dr. Moore and I was very happy and relieved to find that he was still practicing. However, he was no longer at the same office and he also did not have the “ancient” dental records available. I made an appointment with Dr. Moore, traveled to Colorado Springs, and upon looking at the crown, he quickly identified the hardware and addressed the problem. There’s nobody that I would trust more than Dr. Moore to care for this dental implant and crown.

So I went in in incredibly bad pain. All my teeth hurt, and I clearly had been in a loosing battle with my teeth. I felt defeated. Quinn got me in talked to me. Then Dr Hill came in and talked to me. At no point did anyone make me fell bad or anything, in fact they made me feel welcome and good about myself. So I pulled the trigger on their Diamond smile service. (50 grand). And at first it seems like alot of money. But after I had the surgery and was on my way to healing. I felt better about myself and more confident, and my Happiness had returned but in a stronger way. Now I look at the price and feel it was just pennies. My Happiness n health is priceless!!! And I can only say thank you n pay my bill as I feel like a new person, better looking stronger and healthier. Priceless!!.
I came to North end Dental four years ago now and it’s been great! The staff and technicians are friendly, professional and always seem to be happy. Dr. Moore has been my guy since 1998ish and I’m thankful my mother found him. It’s funny now I actually look forward to my cleanings.????

I came in for a emergency visit same day that I was experiencing intense pain. I was thoroughly impressed by this facility from the moment I stepped through the door. Everyone was genuinely friendly and explained my issue with my tooth very well, giving me many options on how to handle my care. The doctor was very knowledgeable and the dentail assistant was very friendly and efficient. 5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
