Dental implants provide several important benefits. First, they prevent bone degeneration in the jaw, which occurs when a tooth root is missing. Finally, they provide a natural look and feel that you won’t be able to achieve with other restorative options.

Implant-supported Dentures in Garden Of The Gods, Colorado Springs, CO 80907
Your jawbone will begin to shrink in your later years, which changes the structure of your face and makes it challenging to chew and speak properly. Dental implants help restore your smile by replacing your missing teeth roots and preventing further bone deterioration. They are designed to look, feel, and function just like natural teeth, and they are permanently fixed in place during surgery. A few weeks after the dental implant procedure, our dentist in Garden Of The Gods, Colorado Springs, CO 80907, will attach a set of teeth to the implants, leading to a durable, reliable restoration that functions similarly to a complete set of dentures.
Unlike traditional removable dentures, which are held in place by clasps that hook around surrounding teeth, implant-supported dentures are attached to small titanium posts that mimic the natural tooth root structure. Because these posts are not susceptible to tooth decay or erosion, they allow you to enjoy a more stable, functional smile that will last for many years to come.
In addition to providing a more comfortable denture experience, dental implants also stimulate your body’s natural ability to heal after tooth loss. The jaw bone needs stimulation from a tooth’s root in order to stay healthy and strong, which is why people with recessed gums and loss of bone density often suffer from a sunken facial appearance. By mimicking the tooth’s root structure with dental implants, patients can maintain their youthful facial shape.
Many patients are worried about the pain associated with dental implant surgery. Fortunately, the procedure is performed using local anesthesia and oral sedation as needed, so most patients report feeling little to virtually no pain at all during the surgery. After the implants are placed, and the tissue has healed, patients can return to their daily lives without needing any downtime for recovery.
